Dr Giulia Rubino
Panelist: Quantum Engineering Technologies
Giulia Rubino is a Proleptic Lecturer in Quantum Technologies and Quantum Foundations at the University of Bristol. She received her MSc degree from the University of Rome "La Sapienza" in 2015. She was then awarded a Uni:Docs fellowship by the University of Vienna to conduct research on the experimental aspects of indefinite quantum causality, an emerging research area within the foundations of quantum mechanics. After obtaining her PhD in 2021, Giulia became a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Bristol, supported by a Newton International Fellowship from the Royal Society. In 2023, she was awarded a Royal Commission 1851 Research Fellowship to continue her research at the interface of quantum technologies and quantum foundations, and, in 2024, she became a Proleptic Lecturer in Quantum Technologies. In her current role, Giulia leads a research team focused on exploring time reversibility and indefinite quantum causality using integrated photonics, as well as investigating theoretical aspects of quantum information and quantum thermodynamics.
